SPF raw

Q: What is "SPF raw"?
A: This indicates the SPF authentication result, which is a precursor to the actual DMARC result.  In order for DMARC to pass on the SPF leg (there is also a DKIM leg, and DMARC will pass based on an aligned pass by either DKIM or SPF legs), the SPF raw result must be 'pass', and the domain used for that result must be related to the domain of the message's From header.  This is the requirement of Alignment. If your SPF-raw result is 'pass' for xyz.com but your From header is zzz.com, the traffic cannot pass DMARC based on SPF, and any entry in your SPF record which lists allowances for xyz.com is useless.
